Fall Trend Report

I may or may not have already burned through one of my new fall candles. Call me basic, but pumpkin candles (and pine) are two of my most favorite scents. Can pumpkin be included in a fall trend report? It should be. To me, both pumpkin and pine scents are incredibly soothing although I tend to associate pine with Christmas time more so than the fall.

Supposedly a “cold” front is moving through the DFW area at the end of this week with highs in the *gasp* 80’s vs today’s 104. I CANNOT wait for a reprieve from this insipid heat.

So .. until the weather becomes more consistently agreeable, you can find me yearning for fall fashion and the ability to wear it without drenching oneself in sweat.

Blazers

Blazer season and all things tweedy and plaid-like has arrived. Oversized blazers are a great wear to dabble into menswear inspired wardrobes without getting too aggressive and boxy. Whether you’re a leggings lady or some tattered jeans, this is my favorite thing to throw on and look like you’ve got your life together. Blazers always add an air of sophistication, even if my hair is in a wretched state per usual. Of note, Lionness is one of my favorite brands for blazers that are all less than $100!

Square Toed Heels

Yes, I’m a self-admitted shoe addict – as evidenced by my enormous shoe wall. A good statement shoe never goes out of style and I’ve found some that are less than $50, $100, and then a little pricier. I ordered these black heels from Zara that are ADORABLE perfect for all fall fashion.

Tiny Purses

I actually don’t know the “fashion” term for these, but compared to my enormous bags I love so much (just splurged on this beauty because it’s iconic) – these are tiny. I’m also very much into the chain link strap trend. It’s cute, it’s edgy, and it’s strong – aka my version of feminine these days. I’m also a big fan of Studio 33 – we made friends in the spring and I’m just obsessed with everyone on their team.

Utility Suits

This isn’t specifically a fall trend per se, but they’re definitely more suited to the weather. They also border on military-inspired fashion and are incredibly cute with combat boots or a bootie in general. Style it with a scarf, a hat, a sneaker, a graphic tee – whatever accessory you adore – there is no wrong here.

Solid Gold, Baby

I guess gold is once more a thing. I definitely sway back and forth on gold jewelry – but I’m down for some of these chunky pieces. What’s your take?

  1. Ahh can’t wait for Fall! I’m just about to buy my fall candles! I love pine, but I do save that one for Christmas 🙂 Thanks for sharing these trends! I’ve been thrifting a lot lately and I’ve found lots of great blazers to add to my wardrobe!

  2. Yess this trend report is everything! I’m the biggest fan of blazers, so I’m already ahead of the game on that. I gotta stock up on square-toe shoes and little bags for sure. I don’t know if I’d ever be able to pull off one of those utility jumpsuits (I’d probably just end up looking like a mechanic) but you’re seriously slaying in yours! (And a mega YES to autumn candles – and winter ones haha. I’m burning Leaves as I write this and the other day I had a balsam one burning).

  3. I cannot get enough of those cute utility jumpsuits! I just got some this week! You look amazing in yours!

  4. Haha I’ve already burned through one of my Fall candles too – my scent of choice is apple though!
I’m loving the fall trends, especially blazers! I’ve been saving my old plaid blazer to pull out at the right moment…
