You’re a Catch

Sometimes this world is such an ugly place. People seem to be obsessed with #1 and careless as to who they trample in the process of looking out for themselves, or even in the process of self discovery. Even though it’s not easy, I try to remind myself people usually don’t intend to hurt you, and they’re on their own path of finding themselves in this crazy whirlwind we call life. Yesterday was a hard day for me, for a variety of reasons. I later met up with a dear friend of mine at Starbucks to catch up on life. We were both sitting in two large armchairs mindlessly chatting on the latest happenings in our day to day lives. An unassuming man sits next to us and soon strikes up a conversation that left me nearly in tears. Do you ever have those moments where you’re left with NO doubt God was speaking to you? This man hardly knew me, or my friend (Cat), but read each one of us like an open book. He reminded me that women are man’s blessing – that we were created from Adam, not to be subservient or lesser, but to be his blessing in life. How beautiful is that? This man suddenly clearly my eyes from the struggles I had been holding onto and opened them to a more clear future.

For those of you who don’t know, Charlie and I have been separated (by distance) for what seems like an eternity. The nature of his military pilot career takes him many places, most of which I have not been able to go. You can imagine the struggles of spending a five year marriage entirely apart. My point here is even through my doubts, and mistakes, he has never left my side. He has patiently waited through my own path of self discovery and supported my dreams & endeavors (including this blog!). I hope you all remember your worth and your own unique beauty mirrored in someone who would turn the world upside down for you, you deserve no less. I tell you all this because even amidst the flaws, we are all beautiful and worthy.

He is MY catch!
