Casual Chic

We’re officially a week into the New Year.. how’s it feel so far?

This past week (even though it was a 4 day work week) was rather busy concluded by a MASSIVE freak-out in the DFW metroplex with the arrival of snow on Friday. Let’s clarify what I mean by snow: a minor dusting of possibly an inch causing sheer panic and over 200+ accidents within the span of 3 hours. It was absolutely ridiculous. The slight whisper of snow in Texas causes a level of insanity amongst the masses I’ve never quite understood. People leave work early, completely wipe out the grocery stores, and drive like heathens. Why!?

Sadly the snow only fell for a couple of hours and never came back… and we’re going back to 70 degree weather this week. Lovely..

At work, we’re preparing for a massive approaching CMS survey. For those of you who aren’t in healthcare, CMS is one of our accrediting bodies allowing us to do what we do.Ā CMS maintains oversight for compliance with the Medicare health and safety standards for laboratories, acute and continuing care providers (including hospitals, nursing homes, home health agencies (HHAs), end-stage renal disease (ESRD) facilities, hospices, and other facilities serving Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries), and makes available to beneficiaries, providers/suppliers, researchers and State surveyors information about these activities.Ā (cms.gov)

As a transplant center, we answer to a variety of accrediting bodies which means a survey is almost always around the corner. It definitely heightens anxiety but means we’re constantly being held accountable for the care we provide and keep atop of our quality measures when it comes to patient care. The downside, the surveyors show up unannounced at your door… which means you need to be prepared at all times. Needless to say, I will be glad when all is complete.

I wanted to share this outfit with you guys, mostly because each piece is wearable in a variety of ways and lovely in its own right. I am mostly a “girly girl” but love finding an unbeatable casual yet glam outfit.

These bracelets by Bela Bracelets are amazing. They hold your hairbands! No more cutting off the circulation to your hands. I wear these to work all the time! Visit their Etsy shop hereĀ or their IG here.
