30 Days of Holiday Dress-ing | No. 1 – Wide Leg Trousers

Deciding on what to wear for the zillions of events, parties, gift exchanges, etc. that surround the holidays always used to stressed me out. Will be I over-dressed, under-dressed – too hot, too cold? I was running around Dallas this weekend with Charlie, taking some blog photos and just generally exploring the city (we love hunting for new wall art) and I suddenly thought, why don’t I do 30 days of holiday dressing?

I chose to do dress-ing and not dresses because a) not everyone likes to only wear dresses to events and b) y’all know I like a good jumpsuit or something else frilly or eye catching. I am hoping this collection of outfit ideas inspires you and helps lessen some of the holiday stress, at least when it comes to planning outfits.

For those of you who don’t know, I’m only 5’4 and often feel short and squatty. When given the moment to feel taller and leggier (totally just made that a word) I’m hands-down all in. High waisted wide leg trousers do just that and occasionally become untied during the middle of a photo sesh (I’m an imperfect person). These beauties pair well with chic laced tops, mock neck or turtle neck tops, and anything form fitting.

I snagged both the trousers and the top at a local boutique here in Dallas, L. Bartlett, in West Village. Isn’t the top the cutest? Frills, open back, cold shoulder, mock neck, and lace … just stahhpp I’m already sold!

I was able to locate the top in this boutique online. Can’t seem to find it anywhere else, ugh! But I was able to put together a few outfits with similar themes below.

And don’t forget all the accessories!

I will also be bringing you some holiday recipes, pajamas (remember these and these from last year?), and much more! You have all voted on Instagram for more gift guides, specifically travel ideas and stocking stuffers.

  2. I love the wide leg trouser look with a crop top! I can’t pull off the look because I’m so short, but it’s so glam on you!
