ShopBop Sale Time!

shopbop sale

Shopbop is probably one of my most frequented shopping sites. It’s been my go to for years .. way longer than I’ve been blogging. Nothing against Nordstrom but I find there are more pieces that look unique or more affordable finds without looking and dressing likeĀ everyone else. Every time the shopbop sale comes around, I get super excited. I build up my favorites as the weeks go by, waiting for the sale to appear so I can feel slightly less guilty about some of the more expensive items.

Speaking of clothes and sales, I ventured to NorthPark (the beautiful mall here in Dallas) to meet my bff from junior high/high school today. It was such a random text from her, I leaped from a sleepy bed to quickly putting myself together. She was in town preparing for a trip (she lives a few hours away) but I haven’t actually seen her in a few years. I have to say, it was incredible catching up. We laughed, caught up on each other’s lives, and vowed not to let years go by before seeing each other again. After our chat over coffee, I ventured over to Sephora (see my insta stories) for a little beauty haul (I also added my purchases to the Beauty tab above in Tara’s Picks) and then skipped on over to Free People. Both stores were in new locations and had a MUCH bigger space, it was so nice!

I had the most pleasant conversation with the ladies working in Free People. They asked if I was purchasing my picks for any specific reason – I said no but that I was a blogger and had a roaming eye for all things pretty. I nearly died laughing when they said are you a “blogger” or a “dallas blogger” because there’s a difference, truly. Ā I immediately thought of my previous blog post and how so many of them are the same and talk about/wear the same things … aka BORING. Isn’t the point of having a blog being able to voice and showcase your unique opinion/style? If I notice it AND the ladies working in retail notice it – there’s a bit of a problem don’t you think? We then discussed the common practice of bloggers buying clothes only to return them once they’ve shot their blog photos in them. WHY?! Does that not scream fake to you? I buy clothes because I love them and genuinely want to add them to my wardrobe – not because it’ll make a good picture. To me, it seems misleading in some underhanded way – and just poor form. So – to the ladies at Free People Northpark, thank you so much for your candor and genuine take on bloggers – it was truly refreshing and most enjoyable. AND we all bonded over this insanely gorgeous kimono I bought – I cannot wait to wear it!

I’ve included below my picks from the ShopBop sale – do you plan on grabbing some items? I like to add some summer looks, including some new swimmies, some beautiful dresses (thinking wedding season yall!), and some spring denim. What do you like to stock up on? Shop this sale with codeĀ EVENT18Ā for 20% off under $500 or 25% off over $500.

Just like you, I don’t buy things just “for the blog” I buy clothes because I genuinely love and want to wear them!
