5 of the Most On-Point Accessory Trends This Summer

When it comes to putting an outfit together, it isn’t just about the clothes that you wear and how you put them together. Your accessories can be the thing that instantly take your outfit from zero to hero, in no time flat. Too much can be overbearing and potentially make your outfit look like more of a costume. Too little and it wouldn’t work for a smarter occasion; accessories can effortlessl bring a whole outfit together.

 

So if you’re wondering what the best accessories are to be styling your outfits with this summer, then here are some must-haves. Which ones are you most excited about using?

 

Baker Boy Hats

 

If the fashion weeks in the spring were anything to go by, baker boy hats are going to be a big trend over summer. They work practically for the heat which is great, as well as oozing some cool and casual vibes. Thrown on with a white tee, denim shorts, and some gladiator sandals, and you’ve got a quick and cool look for some summer shopping. Personalized Jewelry

 

A small trend with a big impact for the foreseeable future to come is personalized jewelry, in particular, personalized name necklaces. They are seen on celebrities from Christina Applegate to Rihanna, choosing to have their own name or even a nickname. And lest we forget, the infamous Carrie Bradshaw and her Carrie necklace. These personalized pieces are an easy way to dress up a casual outfit, as well as adding a bit something unique to a fancier outfit. Personalized rings are popular too, and can be really cute stacked up with a few different names, places, or dates on them. I talk about this trend to you guys but don’t flaunt it – I need to add to my closet!

 

Matrix Glasses

 

For a long time it had been all about the oversized sunglasses (still love them). But this year it seems like the smaller the better with sunglasses. Enter: the Matrix-style glasses. They are sleek, slim, retro, and sharp, and have been seen on catwalks and celebrities alike. While they may not suit every face shape, they are a good way to give an instant update to any outfit this summer. I’ll admit I wasn’t initially the biggest fan, but I have warmed to the cat-eye frame at least.

Statement Earrings

 

If you don’t like to wear too much jewelry, then make sure you choose some statement earrings this summer over anything else. The larger and the brighter, the better. I prefer tassels and beads and of course, sequins. They can add a pop of color to a dark outfit, or make a pretty casual outfit like a simple summer dress look modern and stylish. As I get older, I find myself wearing less necklaces and whatnot and opting only for earrings.

Straw Bags

 

Gone are the days of using a straw bag just for the beach. They are a big trend this summer (and last summer), and not to mention really versatile and stylish. You can choose from a variety, like a larger tote style for casual days, to smaller bucket-style bags for more sophisticated occasions. Cross-body circular straw bags will be a good go-to look for the summer, as they are easy to wear, but they still look good and it helps to make your outfit look on point.
