Wine and Magic!

Have you ever been to a wine and magic show? If you’re in the Dallas area or evening visiting Dallas – this is worth making plans for. Trigg Watson – a lifelong magician, performs mind-boggling feats at Checkered Past Winery while you literally wine and dine during the show. This isn’t some measly card trick show yall – Trigg loves incorporating technology like his iPad and Amazon Prime into his stunts: it’s the coolest thing ever! Hurry up and grab your tickets at wineandmagicdallas.com before they sell out!

The Show

The show happens on a monthly basis with showtimes atĀ 7 and 9:30 pm on a Saturday (to be announced). It is important to note food and drinks/wine is not included with the ticket price except with the VIP tickets. Purchasing 4 tickets at $80 gets you a reserved table plus a complimentary appetizer for the table. Single tickets are $20 each.

Even more exciting news, they are adding a FRIDAY show for August. August dates includeĀ August 10thĀ atĀ 7 and 9:30 pmĀ andĀ August 11thĀ atĀ 7 and 9:30 pm.

I don’t want to spoil anyone’s fun, so I’ll remain quite limited on the actual feats Trigg performs. Let’s just say skeptics will be transformed! Charlie was even pulled on stage at one point (hilarious btw) and was made a true believer! Talk about magical skills! Luckily he got his wedding ring back although he goofed and said we’d been married 8 years when actually it’s about to be 7.

The Food

This was my second trip to Checkered Past Winery. The food, again, did not disappoint. From shared plates, to flatbreads, and tantalizing desserts – my heart, and my stomach left happy campers. We enjoyed a goat cheese spread, a charcuterie board, a margherita flatbread, and the chocolate (explosion) dessert along with a very New York style cheesecake. SO yum yall!

The Magician

As I previously mentioned, Trigg Watson isn’t your run of the mill magician pushing a classic deck of cards. Trigg uses his iPad for the majority of his illusions. Originally from Australia, Trigg is known for his quick-witted illusions and offbeat humor. He performs on local stages and dazzling cruise ships alike. He has also appeared on POP TVā€™s hit reality magic showĀ Donā€™t Blink, Penn & Tellerā€™sĀ Fool Us, and CWā€™sĀ Masters of Illusion (go Trigg go!).Ā Trigg was named the 2013 Dallas Performing Artist of the Year and 2015 Dallas Magician of the Year.Ā For show dates and more information, visitĀ the website.

  4. This sounds like so much fun! Any kind of show that includes wine sounds good to me, and magic is so entertaining! Thereā€™s a street magician who performs in my city, but I know itā€™s not even close to the same as this!
