Army Green

Recently I shared a post with 10 fun/not so obvious facts about myself. One thing I failed to mention is the military trend within my family and now marriage. For those of you new to my busybody life, I am married to the military. My husband is a fighter pilot in the United States Air Force, which always keeps life interesting apart from my own work. My family history is rich with military careers dating back to the civil war! (My mom loves tracing our ancestry).

No matter your political stance, “army” green is like Switzerland of the color palette: it agrees with everyone and all genders because, above all, we endorse love and equality, amiright?

Army green is a color I’m very much used to seeing (insert numerous of Charlie’s flight suits) and adore when I see it on trend. Not only is the color neutral, it also transitions well between seasons. It’s easy to style with a variety of shades and flatters just about every skin tone.

Versatility is essential in a real world/real girl closet, wouldn’t you agree? Finding pieces you can style and/or accessorize in a multitude of ways is most ideal not only to maximize closet space but also the most agreeable with budgets (which I admittedly never stick to).

The color leaves ample room to toughen up with a utilitarian/masculine leather jacket or soften the look with a soft neutral shawl. Naturally I chose the latter with my affinity for all things girly and feminine. Featured in this look is a cold shoulder dress with a key-hole neck.
