Bird Bakery Birthday
Whoa whoa whoa! Weren’t we just celebrating Christmas and New Years?
I always heard as a child the speed at which birthdays seem to recur with each passing year drastically increases. Well.. it’s completely true! I am by no means complaining, I just wish I could freeze frame time.. at 30.
Turning 31 means I’m officially “in my thirties” and I’m not quite sure how it’s settling in just yet. 30 was already a tough pill to swallow. My best friend, who is usually the voice of reason (especially in my whiniest of moments) told me to read Cameron Diaz’s book, Longevity. The theme of the book seems to speak to beauty in age and appreciating the gift of time. I talk about this all the time when preaching about organ donation, so I definitely can’t wait to read! Although I haven’t actually started it yet, I have officially downloaded it onto my Kindle. I have a few days left here in the Bahamas and am aiming to start and finish before I return to my standard chaotic life.
Birthdays always make me take a step back and appreciate all the blessings given to me in my years thus far. I am so rich in love, friendship, and the ability to serve others, who could ask for more?Ā My doctorate starts in a few months, so I know this year is going to become magnificently busier in the blink of an eye.. but the prize is Ā so worth the effort! I am whole-heartedly in love with my job and mission, but my DNP will open even greater opportunities!
The blog also just reached its 7 month birthday, how fun this adventure continues to be! I am hugely grateful for anyone who takes precious time out of their day to see what I have to say!
To all my fellow Aquarians; the independent, stubborn, intellectually brilliant souls, happy birthday babes!
