Breathe In The Canadian Air This Summer
So I’m starting this off by saying this is on my to-do travel list. If you’re thinking about going somewhere different on your travels this year like I am, then why not consider exploring Canada? I am seriously aching to go! There are so many stunning sights to see that will give you a whole new outlook on landscapes and sceneries.
A lot of people hold off on the idea of travellingĀ – maybe because they’re scared to travel outside of their comfort zone or finances just aren’t ideal, the reasons are endless. Scared of venturing off into the unknown and not knowing what you may encounter or discover is intimidating, I’ll grant you that. Many people who have never travelled, however, underestimate the transformative power that it has; Ā it can change the way you think, see, and feel – and the best part – you may even learn some things about yourself that you never knew before. It’s a way of self-discovery and writing the chapters to your own book. You get the freedom of going wherever you want to and exploring the world to suit you and whatever wants or needs that may be driving your need to get away in the first place.
So what’s so great about Canada you ask?
The best activities
If you’re an adrenaline junkie (which I’m trying to be more of), then you will love the popular activity combined with breathtaking scenery that resides in Canada – winter sports. Not only do you have the basics: skiing and snowboarding, but you can also go ski jumping, snowshoeing and tobogganing. I’ve never actually skied or snowboarded (ballerina, remember?) but I’m really going to give it an honest try at some point! I do, however, really want to go snowshoeing – it sounds so fun! If you guys remember, the Whistler was a venue for the Winter Olympics in 2010, therefore it is now a very famous Ā and happenin landmark. For those less inclined to break an ankle, there are plenty of things around like shops, restaurants, and bars, so you can still make an entire day out of it.
The best hotels
For those on a budget, don’t fret – you can still stay in a location surrounded by stunning scenery good enough to sweep you off your feet! Take Medicine Hat Suites for example, they have the prettiest of locations to enjoy incredible views without compromising your wallet. They feature clean, affordable, and modest rooms to stay in with fantastic amenities like a luxury pool and indoor waterpark as well as a nearby golf course and endless outdoor activities at Echo Dale Regional Park.
The best nightlife
Toronto is a brilliantly alive city in Canada that offers an amazing nightlife all thanks to its public transit system. It’s so easy to jump on a bus or call a taxi, Uber, etc. to take you safely wherever you want to go. There is a wonderful array of different clubs to dance the night away, or if you prefer a chill bar with live music – there’s that too. You can even go downtown and admire the view from a rooftop terrace.
So what more are you waiting for? Jump on that wave that allows you to ride the world however you want to. There is no right or wrong when travelling, as long as you make sure you do everything safely and protect yourself. Be smart, make wise choices, and see the world as your pretty little oyster worth discovering. And don’t forget about theĀ secret emergency fundĀ we’ve previously discussed so you a) have some funds to travel and b) have something to fall back on in the event of an unforeseen problem. Go forth with some basic knowledge – keep your senses about you and trust your gut. If something doesn’t feel right or sit well with you, then don’t do it. And (the blogger bit of advice) don’t forget to bring a camera with you to capture those special moments!
If you HAVE been to Canada – spill the beans with me, what’s your favorite part? Lake Louise is my desired destination but I’ve heard Toronto (hello Niagra Falls!) and Vancouver are both outstanding!
Great post. I really want to travel to Canada as well. I would love to just explore the nature up there and just check out the way of life. I was thinking more around Toronto as well but I would also like to visit the Nova Scotia area. Thanks for sharing your information.
