Dansko Summer Sandals

Ah, my love for Dansko begins with my introduction to nursing school and soon after, becoming a full-fledged nurse. I think when people notice nursing apparel, it’s typically scrubs of a certain color and the “nurse clogs.” Those shoes saw me through countless nights, shifts filled with memories and lessons I’ll forever carry with me. To me, Dansko’s equate with growth in my life.

When I heard Dansko created a shoe that wasn’t per se a clog, I was instantly intrigued because their clog line was all I knew of the brand. The word Dansko literally means Danish Shoe.

In my mind, I equate Dansko’s with unquestionable comfort. Being a nurse, you’re on your feet for a minimum of 12 hours, on a good day. Finding a shoe that could handle the grime (and body fluids) while giving me support and were comfortable was essential in getting the job done. I’m happy to report these sandals are no different. I find myself mostly wearing these around the house, outside pulling weeds, or running casual errands.

I had to laugh taking these pictures because Poppy refused to NOT be in on the action. I also had to save these shoes from destruction because someone ran off with one straight out of the box. Normally she doesn’t chew the shoes but she LOVES to hide one of them in an undisclosed location leaving me on a treasure hunt of sorts in search of the missing shoe. Her personality kills me!

What is it that you look for in a shoe? Is it comfort? Durability? Support? Utility? If so.. I highly recommend trying out a brand I’ve adored many years prior to becoming a “blogger.” The comfort is undoubted and as I continue to decorate this house, inside and out, these babies are my go-to!

A little reminder about Zappos: the brand I consider top notch in customer service! Zappos is exceptional in terms of selection, shipping, and of course customer service. I’ve been a customer for 10+ years and still have never had a bad experience. Have you shopped with them before? Their next day shipping always blows my mind. I also immensely enjoy conversing with them on Twitter – whoever is training these employees deserves serious recognition. Customer service and feeling like you’re talking with an actual human being vs a robot is a rare thing these days, wouldn’t you agree?
