Gingerbread Pajamas

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve! We landed safely in Boston and somehow managed to fight our way through the INSANE traffic. Holy smokes… Dallas drivers are aggressive but still have their Texas manners for the most part. It’s an entirely different ball game here.

Tonight we’re making homemade Egg Nog (recipe from a friend of a friend of a friend, twice removed.. all fighter pilots). So it’s sure to be super boozy and probably undrinkable unless you fly fast jets and wear olive colored onesies.

It goes as follows:

  • Separate 12 eggs
  • Add 1 lb powdered sugar to the yolks, stir slowly
  • Add 1 pint Jamaican Rum, stir slowly
  • Add 1 pint Christian Brothers Brandy, stir slowly
  • Add 1 pint whipping cream, stir slowly
  • Chill mix and egg whites overnight
  • Beat egg whites until stiff
  • Fold into mix until smooth
  • Cheers!

We’re also making gingerbread men, which is my favorite thing to do around Christmas! I have fond memories of making them with my grandma as a little girl. What are your holiday traditions?

Many people purchase holiday pajamas every year, I wish my family bought into this idea. It seemed like so much fun! This envious desire prompted my own Christmas pajama purchase this year, courtesy of L. Bartlett Boutique and Wildfox Couture. What I particularly love about Wildfox is their catchy slogans and light-hearted jests embedded within their clothing. Life can always be a little more light-hearted, don’t you agree? These pajamas are adorable, lightweight and fabulously festive. You also get a glimpse of my gorgeous tree and holiday wrapping skills (always improving.)

Above all, I am wishing each and every one of you a truly blessed holiday season, a Merry Christmas, and joyous New Year. It is such a joy continuing this blog journey with y’all, I look forward to your commentary every day. I hopeĀ your holiday is wonderful and bright!
