Khaki is Back!

I found a new online shop I’m gaga over – thanks to targeting ads on Instagram! Choosy is all that the name implies – very select. The online shop isn’t filled with loads and loads of clothes, rather there are a handful of select pieces that are both affordable and well tailored.

I was actually looking to find a new outfit to pair with this gorgeous turquoise necklace gifted to me. I wanted something neutral to fully accentuate the detail of the necklace and whaddya know.. Instagram read my mind. Kind of creepy but it worked out now that I’m slightly obsessed with Choosy.

Who would’ve guessed khaki was cool again, not to mention cargo pants? These pants are incredibly flattering to the waist and could totally be worn out in the elements without wearing down – the material is sturdy. It seems a lot of the pants I find elsewhere are just so thin and flimsy.

I imagine wearing these pants often – with a variety of tops: crops, tees, a chambray knotted top or front tuck, bodysuits, etc. The great thing is the pants are extremely versatile as is the top. This look incorporates so many fun trends and a new take on classic khaki and a white button down. Throw in a pvc bag and great heels – we’re off!

I have such a love for turquoise jewelry – my maternal grandmother has always had a humongous collection (still does). At one point she owned a Native American gift shop that sold beautiful pieces of jewelry, accessories, and pottery. We even had pow-wows in that store, the memories are amazing! Eventually the family tore it down (asbestos) and rebuilt a large shopping center that now houses the family restaurant.

Did you know I’m part of the Choctaw tribe? Most people don’t. Just like they would also never guess I’m Hispanic. I always love finding out what makes others so interesting – what they look for or do to make themselves standout. Whether you’re looking to make a statement or just looking for a truly unique piece of jewelry, this necklace (and the outfit) is all the things! Now if the weather would go back to being spring-like and less of this 20 degrees nonsense…
