Should We Really Do A 180 On Our Style?
Sometimes, we can feel completely uninspired when it comes to our style and accessories. When you are striving for ways to feel better about yourself, the best way to do it is from the inside out, because when we look good, we feel good – and vice versa. This is why we may feel the temptation to do a complete turnaround on our style and give ourselves or our wardrobes a makeover that will make us feel more confident. But, should we actually do this? I’ve been in this state of mind recently – so let’s discuss.
Where Is This Desire To Change Coming From?
Are you unhappy in your life, and therefore this has translated into a general unhappiness with your appearance? If this desire to change comes from restlessness, or a complete sense of dissatisfaction with your looks, but your life is generally pitch perfect, then the change in style could completely alter your life for the better. Not like you’re transforming into Spiderman overnight – but a more polished or refined look that suits you always works wonders. Overall, it’s important for you to address why you are doing this in the first place. A lot of people go through transitional periods where they are trying out new styles, but they always end up going back to what they know best. This is why trends areĀ trends, or purely live in the moment types of fashion fads that come and go, but the classics seem to stick around. If you’re wanting to alter your wardrobe, incorporating a few trends might be the best way to dip your toe in the water – having some fun with some momentary styles in fashion without ditching the pieces that ultimately define you.Ā

Deciding Which Way To Go
Sometimes, the biggest changes are going to get big reactions, and your options are endless. To do a complete change in style doesn’t necessarily mean overhauling your wardrobe, but there are womenās clothing online boutiques that can provide inspiration. Sometimes we just want to emulate our heroes and heroines (hellooo Carolina Herrera and Angelina Jolie), and this provides a very useful starting point. When you want to emulate the people you admire, you still have to consider the practical aspects. For example, if your build is too slight, but you admire someone like Scarlett Johansson, then your transition to their style could take a few more steps. When looking for a template, it’s worth going for someone with a similar build, because you will know that whatever changes you make will look great on you. Does that make sense?
Making It A Gradual Change
But when it comes to a complete 180 degree change, the best changes are those that are made slowly. Trying out one item of wardrobe and seeing if it suits you is the best stepping stone, because if you decide to completely overhaul your wardrobe, but decide a month later that it’s not working, it’s a waste of time. Ultimately, you have the power to control what your style is, and a lot of people design to build their own signature look, because it makes them feel more like themselves, which translates to a more confident version of themselves. But when you don’t know which way to go, it’s far better for you to make a small change to see, not just how it looks, but how it feels. Something like swapping from heels to flats doesn’t turn you into a different person overnight, but if you find the right piece of the puzzle as you go, you will have made these changes gradually, and effectively.
Doing a 180 on our style can be drastic, but a lot of people do it to make a statement. But if you intend to completely turn yourself into someone else, think if you are doing this for the right reasons in the first place.

I am really loving this look! The stripes and color combo with those jeans!
I agree! When I started going to the gym I tried an easy routine, cause I knew that I’ve I made a big change I wouldn’t last much with my fitness goals. So changes are good but they need to come step by step so it is a change of lifestyle and not just a change of a day. Great post!

These are such great tips and it makes so much sense to evaluate why you’re making the change. I feel like I’m all over the map with my style….wonder what that means haha;)
Your giving me 70s vibes! Love the bell bottoms.
I’m sort of going through this myself. I think with the new season, I’m wanting to embrace a more minimalist style.
Loving the 70’s vibes!
it’s always fun to change up your style! I’m loving the flared jeans!
This takes a few things into account that I wouldn’t have considered when thinking about my style! I think sometimes I feel a little rebellious, so I add one or two trendy pieces to my wardrobe (but I still reach for my classic pieces, time and time again)!
I often reevaluate and change my style. I feel like itās a good process.
