This Winter, It’s All About Patterns!

Winter is just around the corner, and you can feel yourself getting cranky, moody, and tired – or maybe that’s just me, haha.

Before you blame it on the weather or a short night like I often do, what youā€™re experiencing might be a mild case of SAD ā€“ Seasonal Affective Disorder. SAD tends to affect people at a change of season ā€“ itā€™s more common in winter when the sunlight decreases and can show symptoms that are more typical of depression. Increasing your consumption of vitamin C and D can help to tackle minor cases. But….I’m also convinced you can boost your chances to feel happy in your skin with a trendy and exciting outfit! Indeed, thereā€™s nothing better to get ready to embrace the day than by surrounding yourself by items that make you feel beautiful and confident. So at home and in your wardrobe, this winter, itā€™s all about the patterns and how you can wear them!

The best animal prints for your wild side

Unless youā€™ve been sleeping under a rock for the past few weeks, you must have noticed the latest animal print trends. Dresses, pants, tops and even shoes boast leopard and zebra prints, as well as more vibrant combinations ā€“ red leopard anyone? If youā€™re unsure, you can try a few styles, from subtle accessories to timeless dresses. Ultimately, the animal print is making a bold comeback into the fashion world, and itā€™s designed to make you feel fabulous (and sassy)!

Marble your accessories

Thereā€™s a big revival of classic styles, such as marble, which can be part of your stationery and accessories. When it comes to creative design, everyone is bringing pastel-colored marble pattern to their products. Thereā€™s a natural sense of luxury and classiness to the use of a marble pattern, whether youā€™re looking at iPhone marble phone cases or even jewelry. Itā€™s inspired directly from the ancient Greeks, who made it part of their temples and architecture to emphasize their noble purposes. You can steal the idea and make yourself the goddess of the day (duh)!

Plaid and tartan everywhere

Plaid has never really gone from our wardrobe. But itā€™s often been pushed as the back of the fashion list, like a distant relative youā€™re trying to ignore. This year has brought back the proud Scottish tartan design on a variety of fashion items for a look that is both casual and quirky. A pair of plaid leggings with a long sweater can give you a funky grunge edge. I found the CUTEST tartan pants recently that I cannot wait to arrive in the mail for holiday gatherings!

Get your winter florals on point

Finally, winter florals are back in force to add a feminine touch to your favorite outfits. The simple pants and shirt look can be transformed with a buttoned floral shirt. A classic office outfit can receive a modern feel with floral boots. And finally, if youā€™re ready to go all in: Nothing can beat the charming figure of a floral medium dress with a pair of boots and a chunky cardigan. You can even bring florals to your winter decor at home, with a selection of tasteful cushion covers, for instance. The key about florals is to keep it low key. If you overdo it, you might end up looking like the tapestry of a French Renaissance castle!
